Live is a bad band starring Ed Kowalczyk. They are famous for being on SNL when David Hyde Pierce was hosting. David Hyde Pierce did one of those really bad musical monologues that no one likes but still outclassed the “Lightning Crashes” singers.

There are apparently two bands named Smashmouth. The one i meant was “Smash Mouth” with the fat lead singer.
Also the lead singer lost a son in 2001, so I now feel bad for making fun of him mercilessly for a decade.
